John Kaiteris, Executive Director/CEO
Mr. Kaiteris has a Masters Degree in Social Work from Columbia University and was a Doctoral Candidate in Urban Policy Studies from New York University. He has an extensive background in government service and community relations having worked in the New York City Human Resources Administration and in the Mayor’s Office. He has brought these skills and talents to HANAC where he has been the Executive Director/CEO since 1973.
Mr. Kaiteris has also been active on community and civic boards. He was a former president of the New York City Council of Senior Centers and Services of New York City, and the Queens Inter-Agency Council on Aging, and a former Chairman of the Queensboro Council for Social Welfare.
Lola Maroulis, Controller
Ms. Maroulis graduated with honors from St. John’s University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. She started working for HANAC right out of college as a Bookkeeper and within a few years became the Fiscal Director of Home Services Systems, Inc., an affiliate of HANAC. Ms. Maroulis has been the Controller of HANAC and all subsidiaries since 2000 and receives excellent ratings by funding sources and auditors for her fiscal management.
Gail Carmichael, Human Resources Director
Ms. Carmichael came to HANAC early in 2000 with a diverse background in social advocacy. She was Director of Human Resources at the Center for Employment Opportunities, a program offering immediate employment to released felony offenders. Before that Ms. Carmichael served as the Director of a not-for-profit alternative to incarceration program in upstate New York, as a paralegal representing indigent clients in Social Security Social Services Office of Immigration and Family Law. Ms. Carmichael also served as a Town Justice in her hometown farming community before moving to NYC to work in criminal justice research at the renowned Vera Institute of Justice.
As a stand-up comedian, Gail has appeared at Caroline’s, StandUp New York, Gotham Comedy Club, the Duplex Lounge, and other clubs around New York City.
